Become an Airline EmployeeÂ
You don’t necessarily have to be a flight attendant to enjoy the travel perks offered by many domestic airlines. Â My husband works for an airline, and we reap all the benefits, and by all I mean even our family and friends. Â Almost all airline employees get the benefits, even the ones working in the call center.

Security Sales Agent
Sales agents who sell security systems typically do this on a contract basis to a certain destination (not all companies let their employees choose where they go, but some do). The contracts typically last for 3 to 4 months, and all travel and living expenses are provided by the company.
I know a couple sales agents that aggressively sell for 4 months of the year, and spend the rest of the time traveling the world. Jobs that will allow you to travel

Become A Travel Agent
Some people say that the internet killed the travel agent, but though not as big as it once was, the industry is alive and well. Â When you become a travel agent doors opens for all kinds of great benefits and discounts. Â One of those benefits are what are called FAMs (short for familiarization trips).
Travel suppliers create these discount programs to encourage travel agents to learn about their destinations and facilities with hopes that these travel agents will use their personal experiences to refer others to come visit them.
Teach EnglishÂ

Teaching English in a foreign country is one of the easiest ways to get out and see the world. Cruise lines are constantly seeking new employees, from camp counselors to entertain kids to food servers and ship photographers. You’ll not only travel the world while working, but also meet all kinds of fascinating people. Carnival Cruise Lines is a popular choice for aspiring cruise workers, and currently has openings in departments like food and beverage, guest services, HR, entertainment and more.
I have a good friend that spent 6 months working on a cruise line in the Mediterranean, which allowed her to get paid to see tons of Europe and Northern Africa.
Website Designer
The web design field is growing on a daily basis. Â This job only requires computer know-how and an internet connection. I have a good family friend that works full time designing websites from a Mexican beach.

Peace Corps Volunteer
As the title “volunteer” might indicate, you won’t exactly be making six figures working with the Peace Corps, but if you don’t mind living on a budget you can become part of an organization that lets you travel the world while making a difference at the same time.
Assignments typically last two years and involve working to advance education, health care, economic, and agricultural development in a community abroad.
The Peace Corps also provide housing, health benefits and student loan deferment — not to mention an excellent résumé talking point.Â
Au pair
Do you work well with children and know a second language? If so, becoming an au pair might be a good option for you. Au pairs live with a host family in a foreign country and provide childcare services such as babysitting and assistance with schoolwork. You’ll receive a small salary on top of your room and board, but you also get to fully immerse yourself in another culture as an extended member of a family.

Tour guide
Look up “tour guide jobs” on Monster.com, and you’ll find a few positions, ranging from a Grand Canyon guide in Arizona to a VIP tour guide at Warner Bros. Studios. Your best bet for finding a tour guide job might be to determine where you’d like to live and then reach out to travel agencies and landmarks in that area.
Travel writer/blogger
It might not be the easiest way to make a living, but it sure would be fun. Though full-time travel writing positions do exist, most publications hire freelance travel writers.

Beyond teaching English and working as an Au Pair I hadn’t heard of some of these options. I don’t think I could work on a cruise because of seasickness, but it’s a great idea!

Great but there’s more such as travel nurse and travel physical therapy. My wife is a travel nurse and we have already traveled to 20 states in US then Canada australia and NZ so far.

Teaching English is how I did it, and now I help others do the same. I think it’s one of the best ways to learn a culture, to become immersed in it and really help shape yourself and the people around you.
Teaching english is for sure one of the best ways to learn a culture and travel. Me and my husband both taught english (here in the US…boring I know;) But we have so many friends who have taught abroad and just LOVED it! I am a part-time personal trainer, Pilates and yoga instructor. I take free trips to the Caribbean every year just by teaching a class every morning at a all inclusive resort. I pay for the airfare but the rest of the trip is complimentary.

Please don’t give up on ‘this life’, join a Travel Club now and start traveling while you are still young and able. I am in World Ventures and seeing the world one Dream Trip at a time.
I’m a travel agent, and, unfortunately, the days of the FAM trips are nearly gone. They are few and far between, at least, at my company. I’ve heard of one or two people going and that was 6 months ago. I haven’t heard of any coming up. However, I did get a round trip ticket for my husband and myself from Boston to Berlin this summer for about $700 each. That is the major benefit. Although, securing time off is not so easy.
Civil engineering is also a great way to see the world and it certainly paid for a lot of my long haul travel. Nowadays there’s such a shortage of engineers (all around the world) that you can more-or-less work anywhere you like and get well paid for it too. So, if you’ve kids who are not too sure what to study at uni, they could do a lot worse than choose civil engineering !

How reputable is the TEFL courses you have recommended? I did a little more digging and found there are official accredited courses but quite pricey! When I read your post and saw your recommendation on myTEFL.com I was excited! However a little nervous as the pricing seems to good to be true? I am an IT Project Manager but want to switch to teach English. I am bilingual as I was raised to speak both English and Spanish in my home. Could you provide an update on your recommendation for mytefl.com? I also have a tiny blog but just barely started and admire folks who can make a living with their blogs! So reading your article was extremely helpful and also motivational! I am not a teacher by trade but definitely want to do it! Help and tips will be greatly appreciated! Will be leaving to Europe for two months soon to do tons of research on teaching but would love to have a certificate with me! ?

If you have more specific questions about their program and accreditation you can go to their website and at the bottom right hand corner you can ask them any specific questions. If it makes you feel better I know lots of travel bloggers that started out just like you and they went through myTEFL for their certification to teach abroad. Also, congrats on starting your blog!
